EVM damage: Elusive Om Prakash surfaces on social media, defends himself

Bhubaneswar: Absconding BJP’s Satyabadi MLA candidate Om Prakash Mishra, who was accused of damaging EVM machine in a polling booth on April 23, today released a video on social media and defended himself as innocent.

The move came a day after Puri police slapped lookout notice against Mishra.

As per the video gone viral on social media, elusive Mishra is heard defending, “I prayed for a thorough probe into the incident. The role of the administration and the accused involved in booth rigging must be probed impartially.”

On Thursday, Puri police issued a lookout circular against BJP’s Mishra after an FIR was lodged against him in connection with the EVM vandalising at a polling booth in Puri district.

As per the complaint, Mishra and his supporters barged into booth no. 78 at Birakishorepur village under Kanas block in Puri and vandalised the EVM.

Though police teams raided his residence at Hansapal in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, but returned empty-handed.
