Elephant herd wrecks havoc in Thakurmunda

Karanjia, Feb 11: A herd of wild elephants wrecked havoc under Thakurmunda forest range of Mayurbhanj district on Monday night. The wild herd strayed into Sarabila village and ate away grains damaging at least five houses. The animals apparently came inside human habitation in search of food. According to locals The herd stays in the forest close to their village during the day time and comes at night. They urged the forest department to drive the elephant herd deeper into the forest.
