Bhubaneswar: The Transport Department today launched e-challan system across the State, doing away with the existing practice of giving hand-written receipts to violators of motor vehicle (MV) and road safety rules.
Transport Minister Nursingha Sahu inaugurated the facility through which payment of taxes, fees and fines will be collected. Besides, all motor vehicle related taxes or fines can be paid through debit and credit cards too, keeping the cash payment option intact.
The department has signed an agreement with the HDFC Bank for e-collection of motor vehicle related revenues.
Citizens can pay all kind of motor vehicle related taxes, fees and fines through digital payment in the offices of state transport authority, RTOs and during checking by enforcement officials at the spot.
