Bhubaneswar: The most blissful, energising and entertaining festival Dussehra will come to an end after immersion of idols of Maa Durga today.
The famous Bhashani Yayra (immersion procession) of idols of the Devi in Cuttack is expected to attract lakhs of people from across the State.
The idols will be immersed in the Kathajodi River at Devigaga. With beating of drums and cymbals, dancing and singing, the goddess will be given farewell by devotees.
As a huge crowd is expected, the Commissionerate police have tightened the security system in the millennium city. The Bhashanin Yatra of about 170 Medhas is scheduled to begin at 11 am.
The Melani Yatra will also take place in the capital city Bhubaneswar in a big way. About 200 Medhas will be in the procession at four different places and they all will be immersed in seven different temporary ponds.
