Doctor arrested for conducting abortion in Biramitrapur minor girl rape case

Sundargarh, July 7: Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested Dr. Debasish Bose of Biramitrapur Community Health Centre (CHC) for conducting abortion of a 13-year-old minor girl who was allegedly impregnated by former inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Biramitrapur police station in Sundargarh district. He was arrested following questioning by Crime Branch officials at Biramitrapur police station this morning. Former Birmitrapur Police Station IIC Ananda Chandra Majhi is under Crime Branch remand on charges of the minor girl’s rape and abortion case. Odisha DGP Abhay had dismissed Majhi from service over his alleged involvement in rape and abortion of a minor girl in Sundargarh district. Four accomplices of Majhi are on run and efforts are on to nab them soon, said an official related to the case.
