Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday wrote to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urging him to take steps to provide required 75 acres of land for the IOCL’s proposed textile park at Bhadrak at the earliest.
In his letter, Pradhan mentioned that that the construction works of the proposed Rs 1971-crore has not been started due to unavailability of 75 acres of land. He mentioned Bharat would the Surat of the eastern India once the textile project is completed. The project would attract investment of Rs 2,500 crore in establishment downstream industries and create employment opportunities for thousands of people.
He apprehended that the project might be transferred to another State if the Odisha Government doesn’t provide land and other required supports soon
Pradhan reminded that an MoU had been signed for establishment of this textile park in the presence of Odisha Finance Minister Shashibhushan Behera and MSME Minister Prafulla Samal on October 11, 2017.
