Bhubaneswar: A day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik claimed that his Government has fulfilled most of the promises made by his party before the 2014 polls, Union Minister and senior BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan today alleged that the Patnaik Government has utterly failed to implement the pension system for poor, downtrodden and homeless women.

Addressing a press conference here, the Union Minister said the State’s promise to provide irrigation to 10 lakh hectare land is a big failure.

“If the BJD fulfil its promises between 2004 and 2014, around 95 per cent land would get the irrigated now,” said Pradhan.

Notably, Chief Minister held the Council of Ministers’ meeting to mark the 103rd birth anniversary of legendary leader Biju Patnaik which is also being celebrated as Panchayati Raj day and highlighted some major promises vis-a-vas Government’s achievements including shelter security, creation of 10 lakh hectares of additional irrigation, food security for all, youth empowerment, universal health coverage, social security for all, loan to farmers at 1 per cent interest, women empowerment, industrial development and quality education.
