Bhubaneswar: Director General of Police (DGP) Dr RP Sharma today visited Sambalpur district to fine tune the security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Superintendents of Police (SPs) of five districts under northern range, Director (Intelligence) Sunil Roy, ADG (Operations) RP Koche, ADG (Law & Order), CRPF IG and other senior officials were present.
The DGP discussed about the prevailing law and order situation and security arrangements for the polls with the senior police officials.
The Sambalpur Parliamentary constituency will go to polls in the third phase on April 23.
In phase three six Lok Sabha constituencies namely Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri, and Bhubaneswar will go to polls along with 42 Assembly constituencies – Kuchinda, Rengali, Sambalpur, Rairakhol, Deogarh, Telkoi, Ghasipura, Anandpur, Patna, Keonjhar, Champua, Karanjia, Dhenkanal, Hindol, Kamakhyanagar, Parjanga, Pallahara, Talcher, Angul, Chhendipada, Athamalik, Baramba, Banki, Athgarh, Barbati-Cuttack, Cuttack-Sadar, Puri, Beahmagiri, Satyabadi, Pipli, Jaydev, Bhubaneswar Madhya, Bhubaneswar Uttar, Ekamra Bhubaneswar, Jatani, Begunia, Khurda, Chilika, Ranpur, Khandapada and Nayagarh.
