Bhubaneswar: A meeting was held today at the BJD headquarters here to coordinate efforts to implement all the promises made to the people of Patkura during the recently concluded Assembly elections.

BJD’s Sabitri Agrawalla won the seat by defeating BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s friend-turned-foe Bijoy Mohapatra of BJP.

After the review meeting, BJD leader and Aul MLA Pratap keshari Deb said that the allegations that the newly elected Patkura MLA Sabitri Agrawalla is being opposed by party workers is baseless.

“Development works in Patkura will be carried out on a war footing as per Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s pre-poll promises,” said Deb.

Among others, Patkura MLA Sabitri Agrawalla, Ranedra Pratap Swain, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and Prafulla Mallik attended the meeting.

BJD nominee Sabitri Agarwalla, the widow of Bed Prakash, bagged 96,017 votes, while Mohapatra got 78,097 votes. Jayanta Mohanty of the Congress secured only 2,104 votes.
