Delhi Violence: NCP demands Shah’s resignation, says ‘Gujarat model’ replicated in national capital

New Delhi, Feb 27: Alleging that ‘Gujarat model’ has been replicated in Delhi which has witnessed a large communal violence over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on today called for Union Home Minister Amit Shahs resignation.

The responsibility of maintaining law and order in Delhi is with the Union home ministry, the NCP said.

Senior NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik also demanded a probe into the matter if the home minister could not handle the situation in Delhi he had allegedly given instructions to the police to not respond quickly to the situation.

On the other hand, the death toll in the northeast Delhi communal violence over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) reached 34 on Thursday. It was at 27 till Wednesday night.

As per reports, five more deaths records at Delhi’s GTB Hostel, so death toll at that hospital has gone up to 30, taking total toll to 34.
