New Delhi, May 15: Even as the Central and the city governments are yet to decide on the movement of public transport after May 17, Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Friday planned for the SOPs with contactless ticketing in the buses and Metro. In a series of tweets, Gahlot said he discussed SOPs for safe opening of Delhi Metro and buses with officials of the Delhi Transport Department, DTC and Metro among others. "If central government allows, Delhi is confident of running public transport," he said. Gahlot said that social distancing, contactless ticketing and disinfection will be the three pillars of the strategy to run public transport safely. "And all of this will be possible only if people of Delhi cooperate. Delhi will be back on its feet only if people and the government work together," he added. On Thursday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal gave hints on opening public transport in Delhi and have also suggested the same to the Centre. The Centre is planning to allow more relaxations in the lockdown 4.0 starting from May 18. (IANS)
