Death of UTP in Boudh jail: Two jail warders axed for dereliction of duty

Boudh: The Prison authorities today suspended two jail warders of Boudh jail after an under-trial prisoner (UTP) died under suspicious circumstances last night.

Chief jail warder Sanjiv Panda and his deputy Dilip Mohanty was placed under suspension for dereliction of duty.

Notably, Gopal Biswas (45) of Banagaon area in West Bengal, who was arrested by the Boudh police on June 5 from the neighbouring state on charges of ganja peddling, was lodged in the sub-jail since then due to rejection of his bail plea.

However, he died last night under suspicious circumstances.
