Day II of Dhanu Yatra: King Kansa moves around the city; fines the guilty

Bargarh, 2/1: Bargarh town has turned into Mathura Nagari of demon king Kansa of Dwapar age. The famous Dhanu Yatra has started on the world's largest open air stage. On the day II, king Kansa riding an elephant has gone around the city and imposed fines on violators. King Kansa went to Bargarh government bus stand during his city visit. He enquired the bus passengers about their grievances. The passengers narrated their grievances such as lack of urinal in the bus stand, drivers driving drunk and without wearing seat belt. The king warned the District Traffic Manager and asked him to punish the guilty with two lakh "gold coins." {"id":23009,"sizeSlug":"large"} Similarly, the rang mahal ( royal court) has been opened at Nishamani ground by Bargarh district collector Jyotindra Pradhan in presence of the members of Dhanu Yatra committee. King Kansa will enjoy cultural programmes performed by cultural troupes from across the state and outside here daily evening after the city visit. Dhanu Yatra will be held for the first 11 days on the open air stage, while the royal court of King Kansa will be held for the last four days.
