Bhubaneswar: Expelled BJD leader Damodar Rout, who recently floated new political party Biju Samata Kranti Dal, today urged Bijoy Mohapatra and Dilip Ray, who recently resigned from BJP, to join his party.
Rout’s response came to a query on rumours that both the leaders might join BJD.
“Both the leaders were humiliated by Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik. He may change his stand and policy to save his own position. Bijoy Mohapatra and Dilip Ray are very efficient and clever leaders and I think they will not join BJD,” said Rout.
On November 23, Damodar Rout, along with Braja Kishore Tripathy of the Samata Kranti Dal, floated their new political party Biju Samata Kranti Dal.
On Friday, former Union Minister Dilip Ray and senior Bijoy Mohapatra resigned from the BJP, sparking speculations about a realignment in political circles in the State.
