Dacoity bid foiled near Bhubaneswar’s Khandagiri; 2 arrested

Bhubaneswar, July 28: While a week of joining of DCPs of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the Commissionerate Police has pull up socks intensifying the crackdown on anti-socials in the twin cities.

The Khandagiri police on Monday foiled a dacoity bid and arrested two miscreants at Udayagiri Hills, Khandagiri who were planning to commit a dacoity in the area.

The arrested have been identified as Dukhisyama Gochhi (45) of Bharatpur and Sagar Baliarsingh (24) of Keshura, Ballghat.

According to police, a police team led by SI GD Panigrahi after getting a tipoff conducted a raid near bus stand at Udayagiri Hills, Khandagiri and apprehended the two accused, who were assembled with their other armed associates armed, and planning to commit dacoity from the passersby.

The police seized a country made gun, ammunition, a knife and an Apache motorcycle from their possessions.

Further investigation is on.
