Bhubaneswar: In view of the impending cyclone Titli which is likely to wreak havoc in southern parts of the State, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) today decided to suspend train services between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram from 10 pm tonight.
ECoR Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) JP Mishra said that the Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express which is scheduled to depart from Bhubaneswar at 7:35 pm today will be diverted towards Sambalpur.
While the original route of Hirakhand Express is via Palasa-Vizianagaram, it has been diverted to Bhubaneswar-Talcher-Sambalpur-Rayagada-Titlagarh route, he said in a press conference here.
Similarly, the Howrah-Secundrabad East Coast Express which is scheduled to arrive Bhubaneswar at 7:50 pm today has been diverted on Bhubaneswar-Talcher-Sambalpur-Rayagada-Titlagarh route.
Trains from Howrah/Kharagpur side will not be allowed in ECoR jurisdiction after 5:15 pm on Thursday while trains from Hyderabad/Visakhapatnam side will not be allowed from Duvvada (Visakhapatnam) after 6:40 pm on Wednesday.
No movement of passenger trains will take place between Khurda Road and Vizianagaram section after 10 pm today.
