Cyclone Bulbul will not hit the Odisha coast, but there will be rain: state government

Bhubaneswar, 6/11:  The state government has ruled out the possibility of cyclonic storm Bulbul hitting the Odisha coast. However, there will be light to moderate rainfall at most places over north coastal districts of the state from November 9-10. Talking to reporters here today, Special Relief Commissioner PK Jena said today that the district administrations likely to be affected by the rainfall had been asked to remain alert. As per the recent bulletin of the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD), the deep depression over east central and adjoining south east Bay of Bengal had lay centred about 810 km south-southeast of Paradip this morning. It is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm during next 24 hours and move west northwestwards for some more time and then north-northwestwards towards West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha and Bangladesh coasts. Under its influence, there may be light to moderate rainfall at most places over north coastal districts of Odisha from November 9-10.. Sea condition will be very rough to high over east central Bay of Bengal till November 7 evening and very high to phenomenal thereafter over central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal.Fishermen have been advised not to venture into north Bay of Bengal along and off Odisha – west Bengal coasts from November 8 onwards, said the weather bulletin.
