New Delhi, May 23: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today ordered the release of Rs 500 crore to Odisha, which has been affected by cyclone Amphan.
This was informed by Odisha Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Jena in a tweet.
On May 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced a Rs 500 crore relief package for Odisha. The Prime Minister announced the immediate assistance to carry out the relief and restoration measures after holding a review meeting and conducting an aerial survey of the cyclone-hit areas of the state.
He chaired the review meeting in the presence of Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, and Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi at Biju Patnaik International Airport here.
