Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Tuesday talked to the Cabinet Secretary and appraised him about improvements in relief and restoration works being undertaken in the cyclone ‘Fani’-ravaged areas in the State.
Padhi sought help from the Union Government for restoration of power communication in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack and other affected areas in the State. He appraised the Cabinet Secretary that only 10 per cent electricity has so far been reconnected.
Padhi wanted that around 5,000 skilled labourforce from out of the State, especially from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, are needed to restore normalcy in the cyclone-affected areas of the State.
Padhi informed that power restoration will take time and specifying the number of days for the same would not be just.
“Two main points, mobile connectivity and restoration of power connection, and power were, emphasised in the meeting,” Padhi told reporters.
