Crorepati engineer arrested by Vigilance in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Oct 22: Vigilance sleuths today arrested Sarada Prasad Gauda, Assistant Engineer of Roads and Buildings, Division V in Bhubaneswar for amassing properties disproportionate to his known source of income. The agency has traced properties worth Rs 1.55 crore of Gauda during raids on Wednesday. The properties included one triple-storied building, one flat, 19 numbers of plots, one four wheeler, two numbers of two wheelers, deposits in different banks, investment in insurance policies, gold and silver ornaments, cash and household articles. Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday have conducted raids at three locations including the office of Gauda on allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income. Officials said that Gauda will be forwarded to the court on Friday.
