CP issues guidelines for hospitals in the twin cities for 48-hour shutdown

Bhubaneswar, April 3: Commissionerate police today issued guidelines for hospitals in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for 48 hour shutdown beginning from Friday 8 pm. Police said that all passes issued to hospitals and its staffs during the lockdown will remain valid. “However, all the hospitals have been requested to keep OPDs closed. Only emergencies should open as they do on Sundays. All hospitals/clinics have been requested to strengthen tele-medicine support,” police said. Police further said that emergency patients should be transported using ambulances, which will be 108 for government hospitals and phone numbers of respective private hospitals. “All patients with scheduled dialysis or any other urgent medical procedure will be allowed to go. All pharmacies attached to hospitals will remain open.  Some pharmacies, identified by local authorities, will remain open. 102 and other ambulances must be granted un-obstructed access,” added police .
