Covid-19 tally reaches 345 in Bhubaneswar with 13 fresh cases

Bhubaneswar, July 2:  As many as 13 persons were tested positive for Covid-19 under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area in the last 24 hours till 9 am today. While eight persons were in home quarantine, five cases were local, said BMC. Three cases – a 24-year-old man, a 32-year-old-man and a 28-year-old woman – of Tankapani road Rajarani Mandira, linked with an earlier positive case, were in home quarantine. Similarly, two cases – a 44-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman of Tankapani Road, Bijaylaxmi Colony, linked with an earler positive case, were in home quarantine. A 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old man of Nuagoan, near Samantarapur, have tested positive. They are linked with an earlier positive case and were in home quarantine. The eighth case was a 25-year-old man of Unit-1 with a travel history of Bangalore. The five local cases: The first case is a 21-year-old woman of Saradhapali slum of Khandagiri area with travel history of Jajpur district. The second case is a 32-year-old man of Bhintangi road in Old Town area with travel history of Cuttack district. The third case is a 55-year-old man of Salia Sahi, a Railway staff and native of Jajpur. The fourth case is a 57-year-old man of Niladri Vihar, near Utkal Institute of Medical Science, whose one family member is an Assam returnee. The fifth case is an 18-year-old girl of Jaydev Vihar, Nilachakra Nagar. On the other hand, nine persons have recovered from the disease. The Covid-19 positive tally reached 345 in the state capital with detection of the new cases. While 201 persons have recovered from the disease so far, the city has 139 active cases. The disease has claimed four lives in Bhubaneswar.
