Bhubaneswar, Sep 25: Covid-19 situation is improving in Bhubaneswar and the spread of the virus has been contained to a great extent, said Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary today. "In Bhubaneswar 75 percent of the active cases are in home isolation and 68 rapid response teams (RRT) are actively monitoring the home isolation cases," said Chaudhary. The capital city has reported 19,893 Covid cases so far out of which 16,119 persons have recovered, he added. Recently, 60 new ICU beds have been added for the treatment of critical cases in Bhubaneswar, 40 ICU beds in a new dedicated COVID hospital and 20 units in an already functioning COVID hospital, the commissioner said. During the first survey only 5 percent denizens had developed antibody and during the second survey (in high risk group) it was found that 10 per cent people have the antibody. The spread is in the shape of a plateau and the graph will decline very soon, he said.
