Covid-19 returns to Puri after one month as two fresh cases detected

Puri, May 10: Covid-19 returned to Puri after a gap of one month after two persons in the district were tested positive for the deadly virus. As per reports, the latest two cases are Bengal returnees. “We have started contact tracing of both the new cases. They will also be shifted to Covid-19 Hospital,” said an official.   The first Covid-19 patient in Puri district was reported from Pipili on April 3. The infected working at the BJB Nagar Sub Post Office in Bhubaneswar had returned from Delhi on March 10. Subsequently he was discharged from a Covid Hospital in Cuttack. Earlier on Saturday Development Commissioner-cum-Addl. Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and Secretary to Chief Minister (5T) V. K. Pandian have visited dedicated Covid Hospital in Puri and have reviewed the Covid-19 preparedness.
