Coronavirus scare in Odisha; central team visits SCB Medical College

Cuttack, Feb 6: A three-member central team today visited the SCB Medical College and Hospital here to take a stock of preparedness to deal with deadly coronavirus. The team comprising Shikha Vardhan, Kapoor Choudhary and Anuradha Sulaniya visited the special wards of the hospital and held a discussion with the hospital authorities. The team also advised the hospital authorities about the precautionary measures for the deadly virus. So far seven samples from Odisha have been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune for coronavirus and six of the samples have been tested negative. The coronavirus has been declared a global emergency by the World Health Organisation (WHO). India’s third case of coronavirus was reported in Kerala on February 3 (Monday). The first two cases were also reported from the same state.
