Coronavirus: India’s longest train reaches destination without passengers

Bhubaneswar, Mar 26: The longest travelling express train in the country, Vivek Express, was the last in the railway network to complete its journey on Wednesday which had started its journey just hours before the nation-wide lockdown was enforced.

The Ministry of Railways had extended the cancellation of all passenger train services till the midnight of April 14, 2020 in the wake of COVID-19.

Though the train had about 50 per cent occupancy during most part of its journey, it reached its destination Kanyakumari without any passenger.
