Corona toll at 399 in Odisha with death of 9 more patients

Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: Corona toll reached 399 in Odisha with death of nine more patients in the last 24 hours, the state health department said on Saturday. “Regret to inform of the demise of nine Covid positive patients while under treatment in hospitals,” it tweeted. On the other hand, as many as 53 positive persons have died due to other ailments in the state while undergoing treatment. Details of the deceased: 1. A 28 year old male of Bolangir district who was also suffering from Diabetes. 2. A 50 year old male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Hypertension. 3. A 70 year old female of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Hypertension, Diabetes, Carcinoma Gall Badder. 4. A 51 year old female of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension & Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. 5. A 60 year old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Sepsis. 6. A 53 year old male of Malkangiri district who was also suffering from Diabetes. 7. A 51 year old male of Raygada district. 8. A 54 year old male of Sundergarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes & Hypertension. 9. A 60 year old male of Sundergarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes, Dilated Cardiomyopathy & Right pleural effusion. As many as 2819 persons tested positive for Covid-19 on August 21 in Odisha, the health department said on Saturday. When 1691 cases were reported from quarantine centres, 1128 were local contacts. The corona tally reached 75,537 in the state with detection of the new cases.
