Bhubaneswar, April 22: The Odisha government has decided to sanitize the potato and onion trucks coming from West Bengal. In addition, samples of truck drivers and helpers will also be tested.
A meeting was held between Commissionerate of Police and the BMC with the owners of Aiginia Potato warehouse today.
The decision came after as many as 28 persons tested positive for the novel coronavirus found to have travel history from Kolkata. The COVID-19 patients have travelled to their home towns in Odisha in the lorries carrying potato and fishes from Bengal.
Not only West Bengal, but also Odisha imports onion from Maharashtra. The owners of the warehouses have been instructed by the Commissionerate of Police and the BMC to pay attention to how to maintain social distance and use of masks.
