Cuttack: The Orissa High Court Bar Association today decided to continue its cease-work agitation till the accused police personnel are arrested. Lawyers have abstained from work in all courts here including the Orissa High Court demanding the arrest of the policemen who have allegedly beaten an advocate on Tuesday.
The association will decide the next course of action at general body meeting to be held on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, at least three police personnel, including two constables were placed under suspension in Cuttack for allegedly assaulting lawyer Debi Prasanna Pattnaik on Tuesday.
They were accused of assaulting Pattnaik at Shastrinagar in Nuabazar on Tuesday afternoon.
On the other hand, the fracas took a violent turn with a police control room (PCR) vehicle being torched during a High Court Bar Association protest here near the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) office on Wednesday.
Four FIRs have been lodged in connection with the assault and police vehicle torching case.
People seeking legal help are suffering a lot as lawyers did not attend any of the judicial courts, including the High Court.
