Bhubaneswar: The Congress today observed ‘Black Day’ protesting against the alleged violation of constitutional rights of the panchayati raj bodies by the State Government by introducing PEETHA and Ama Gaon AMa Bikas yojanas.
“The ruling party has violated the rights of panchayats and panchayat samitis. The ‘Black Day’ was observed to protest against the alleged violation of constitutional rights of the panchayati raj bodies,” Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president Niranjan Patnaik.
The party workers staged demonstration across the State protesting the arbitrary move of the Government.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik, while addressing a function marking the 21st foundation day of BJD at the State party headquarters, claimed that he can make Odisha the No. 1 State in South Asia.
