Bhubaneswar: Two days after Congress working president Naba Kishore Das hinted at joining the ruling BJD, another Congress heavyweight and Sundergarh MLA Jogesh Singh today too hinted at joining the ruling party. He is most likely to join the Naveen Patnaik-led regional party in February.
He informed that he will skip party president Rahul Gandhi’s proposed visit to Odisha on January 25 thereby creating speculation about his desertion from the Congress.
Asked about joining BJD, Singh said, “Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is a top administrator so he has been in power for so long. He has done a lot of development in my constituency Sundergarh. I will do what people want.”
When asked why he will not Rahul Gandhi’s programme on January 25 when he visits Odihsa, Singh said, “Public is my high command and service to them is more important than party affairs.”
