Bhubaneswar: Congress State in-charge Jitendra Singh will chair a meeting at the Congress Bhavan called for discussing the party’s poll debacle.
All the nine newly elected MLAs and the single MP will attend the meeting.
Sources said all the State party office bearers and defeated candidates will attend the meeting present their views.
Earlier on Friday, Congress State president Niranjan Patnaik owned moral responsibility for the party’s humiliating defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha and offered to resign from the post.
Niranjan lost elections from Ghasipura and Bhandaripokari Assembly segments.
Congress won only nine Assembly seats and single Lok Sabha seat. In 2014, the Congress had won 16 seats in 147-seat Assembly. The party had failed to win a single Lok Sabha seat in Odisha in 2014.
