Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik today said that the party is not hopeful of forming Government in Odisha.
Patnaik’s statement came a day before the announcement of Lok Sabha and Assembly results.
“We are not hopeful of forming government in Odisha but will win more seats than last elections. Congress has given a tough fight and will perform well in southern and coastal parts in the State,” Patnaik told reporters here.
If BJP and BJD forms post-poll alliance, Congress will definitely be in the principal Opposition seat in Odisha, added the Congress veteran.
Patnaik said that he will win both Ghasipura and Bhandaripokhari Assembly seats.
Asked about UPA chief Sonia Gandhi’s invitation to Naveen Patnaik for a meeting of non-NDA party leaders proposed to be held on the day of result, Patnaik raised doubt over Naveen’s role in the effort of an anti-NDA front.
