Bhubaneswar: As general elections are nearing, political parties seem to have busy in planning and announcing sops for voters to garner their support to grab power in the State in 2019.
They are seen convening Press meets and announcing promises time and again.
In one such development, Pradesh Congress Committee president Niranjan Patnaik held a Press meet today and reiterated that his party, if voted to power in 2019, would waive farm loans and provide financial incentive to farmers for five years. Besides, he also announced to provide solar pumps to farmers free of cost.
It may be noted that Patnaik had made this announcement many times earlier.
Besides, he demanded that the Naveen Patnaik Government waive farm loans soon.
It looks noteworthy to mention here that the State BJP has also announced to waive loans, if voted to power.
However, the BJD Government is yet to make such a commitment to farmers while the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister have stated that the issue is being discussed now.
