Commisionerate Police penalises 275 persons for violating the 6-ft-distance norms in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, May 7: Commisionerate Police has imposed penalty on 275 persons for violating the 6-ft-distance norms in the State capital. Police said that several Social Distancing Squads have been constituted to enforce social distancing in Bhubaneswar. As per a special regulation issued by commissioner of police Sudhanshu Sarangi, owners of all shops and commercial establishments have been asked put in place social distancing measures that mean a distance of at least 2 metres or 6-feet between any two persons. The regulation has a penal provision of fine up to Rs 500 for the violation. The regulation also said that both the shopkeepers and buyers are liable for violating the social distancing norm.
