Cold wave hits normal life in many parts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions along with smog covers have disrupted normal life across the State, according to reports.

As many as 11 cities recorded temperature below 10 degree Celsius this morning.

Phulbani recorded lowest temperature of 5 degree Celsius and Daringibadi 6 degree Celsius. People remained indoors till 10 am in view of dipping of day’s temperature. As Daringibadi’s scenic beauty is termed as snowy Kashmir, a large number of tourists have thronged the region.

Layers of smog covered many parts of the State, including Jeypore in Koraput district and Udala in Mayurbhanj district, till 9 am, disrupting movement of vehicles. The scene of villagers sitting around bonfire was witnessed in village areas.

According to weather office, the cold wave conditions will further deepen in coming days.
