CMC involves 179 puja and local area committees to combat Covid-19

Cuttack, June 27: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has formed 59 ward committees for Covid-19 management, informed Principal Secretary of Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment Department and Covid-19 observer for Cuttack, Saurabh Garg. Garg addressing a presser said that the CMC has also sought help from 179 puja committees and local area committees for combating the deadly virus. “As many as 10 Rapid Response Teams have been constituted and each team is either being lead by an MBBS doctor or AYUSH doctor. The preparation of the civic body to combat Covid-19 is satisfactory,” said Garg. As many as 34 persons have been infected with the virus in CMC area so far while 21 of them have recovered. Similarly one person so far has died of Covid-19 and the number of active cases stands at 12. CMC Commissioner Ananya Das said that so far 5101 returnees have returned to CMC area. “Out of the 5101 returnees, 3892 have completed home quarantine while 949 were kept in institutional quarantine. Besides 260 opted for paid quarantine facility,” she said.
