Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will visit Surat in Gujarat today to attend the ‘Odisha Mahotsav-2018’ and interact with Odia community representatives there.
The Mahotsav, which will be organised for six hours from 4 pm t 10 pm, is likely to be attended by over a lakh of Odisha people staying in Surat. Over 7 lakh people from Odisha, majority from Ganjam district, are now working in different industries there.
Ahead of Patnaik’s visit, a host of Ministers like Surjya Narayan Patro, Bikram Keshari Arukh and Ashok Chandra Panda and many MLAs have been camping to oversee preparations there for the last two days.
According to information, a heavy security arrangement has been made for the CM visit under the direct guidance of the Surat Police Commisioner and the local DCP.
Various cultural programmes will be held at the festival. Feasts have been arranged at 140 counters for people who would attend the meeting.
