Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the “Mo Cycle” App at a programme held at the Biju Patnaik Air Port Chhack here this morning. Through the App, denizens can take “Mo Cycle” on hire for use in the city.
The objective behind the “Mo Cycle” programme is to reduce pollution in the State. Denizens can download the “Mo Cycle” App in their mobiles and subscribe to the “Mo Cycle” programme paying a nominal fee. Through the App, they can take cycles on hire for a free ride for 30 minutes. However, they would pay Rs 5 per hour for keeping cycle with them. The cycles, provided by three companies, have special locks, which would be locked automatically after scheduled hire-time. About 3,000 cycles have been kept at different places for lending purposes.
Notably, cycles tracks have been marked on roadsides in the city for running of cycles ahead of the Odisha Hockeky Men’s World Cup.
