Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the makeshift shelters for Habishyalis in Puri through videoconferencing from the State Secretariat today.
Makeshift shelters have been built up at four different places where elderly Habishyalis were accommodated during a month-long Kartik Brata period. Nearly, 2,600 Habishyalis have been accommodated in these shelters.
As per Government norms, all Habishyalis would be provided free Mahaprasad and health services besides shelter. CCTV cameras have been installed and police personnel have been deployed for their security.
Among others, Culture Minister Ashok Panda was present.
