Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid foundation stone for a national Urdu university. titled Moulana Azad National Urdu University, at Brajabiharipur in Cuttack city during his visit to the millennium city today.
The university will come up a 5-acre patch of land, which has already been allocated by the State Government for the purpose. The university, which will be set up at total cost of Rs 110 crore, is scheduled to be completed in one-and-a-half year. As many as 700 students would read in this university, which will be operating a branch university of Maulana Azad University, Hyderabad.
According to information, students have already got admissions into the proposed university and are reading in a temporary premises.
