Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched ‘Ama Ghare LED’ scheme under which the State Government will distribute four bulbs free of cost to 95 lakh households enrolled under national/state food security schemes in the State.
The bulbs would be given to the beneficiaries on January 15 during the PEETHA programme in panchayats. Nearly 95 lakh beneficiaries would be benefitted under the scheme. Those who fail to receive the bulbs can collect the same from the PDS centre and gram panchayat offices.
The bulbs will be distributed in a phased manner across the State.
The new scheme of the State Government is seen as a counter to Ujala scheme launched by the Centre in 2015 under which more than 1.26 crore people have been benefited in the State.
