Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated Mahatma Gandhi Setu over the Kushabhadra River along the Balianta-Balakati Road (old Jagannath Sadak).
The bridge has been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 27 crore.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also flagged off the ‘Gandhi Jyoti Yatra’ from Gandhi Smruti Peetha at Balianta. He also inaugurated a photo exhibition there named as ‘Gandhiji and Odisha’ to mark the Gandhi Jayanti.
Notably, Gandhiji had stayed at Balianta for three days during his Odisha to visit during pre-independence.
