Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today distributed houses and land patta (Record of Rights) to slum dwellers under Mission Abaas housing scheme in a function here.
He handed over the house keys to slum dwellers and RoRs to the beneficiaries residing in various slums the under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in the State capital.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said welfare of poor and downtrodden and slum dwellers, is the State Government’s top priority.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister visited Bolangir and reached out to women SHGs.
Thousands of members of women self help groups (SHGs) who have been benefitted under different schemes for their empowerment attended the mega Mission Shakti conclave at Patharchepa Ground.
There are nearly 70 lakh women members in nearly seven lakh SHGs in the State. Under the Mission Shakti, the State Government is providing financial support to women SHGs for women empowerment. Every SHG is eligible to avail interest free loans up to Rs 3 lakh, Rs 3,000 for digital empowerment and Rs 25 lakh revolving fund assistance.
