Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today conducted an aerial survey on cyclone and flood-hit areas of Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada today.
The Chief Minister is likely to announce package for flood-hit districts after a review meeting this evening.
After the aerial survey of, Patnaik said, “Maximum damages have been done to the crops. Also roads have been damaged,” adding that relief work is going on in top speed.
More than 45.84 lakh people in 11 districts – Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Puri, Kandhamal, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Khorda and Jagatsinghpur – have been affected due to flood.
Even though very severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ did not cause much damage to Odisha, the resultant rains led to severe flood in the State, Ganjam being the worst affected district.
The situation in Gajapati and Rayagada districts has also remained grim.
