Bhubaneswar, March 7: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed the Vice Chancellors of Universities in the State to ensure timely conduct of examinations and publication of results from next academic year. Addressing the conference of Vice Chancellors of State Universities here, the Chief Minister said the University examinations along with publication of results must be done in time. No delay shall be tolerated from the coming academic year. “As Vice Chancellors, you are the leaders of your universities. You have to make continuous endeavour for elevating your institutions to higher levels of academic excellence,” said Patnaik. The CM also urged the VCs to make efforts to achieve higher NAAC rating and NIRF ranking in the coming cycle of assessment and ranking. “I expect all of you to spend more of your time inside the University campus interacting with the students. I assure that there will be no constraints of funds and the State Government will support the Universities in all possible ways.  I expect our Universities to achieve National and International eminence sooner than later.  I seek your cooperation on this front,” added Patnaik. Patnaik also suggested the VCs to focus on several significant aspects including transparency in recruitment of teachers, research and publication and making university campus free from non-students and unauthorised persons.
