Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced a special package to encourage migrant workers not to go outside the State in search of work.
At a special programme held at the Jayadev Bhawan here, the Chief Minister said steps would be taken to identify vulnerable workers and to give works to them at their villages. The package was announced for workers of 20 blocks in four districts-Bargarh, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Bolangir.
According to the package, the workers would be given works for 200 days against 100 days per annum. Youths between the age of 18 and 35 years will be provided skill training for different works. Steps would be taken to help poor women to form SHGs to get Government supports.
The Chief Minister also increased wage to Rs 286.86 under the Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme.
