Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced package for livelihood support for cyclone Fani-hit crop farmers, cattle rearers, fish farmers and SHG members.
Patnaik said Rs 6,800 will be given as input subsidy per hectare of unirrigated land and Rs 13,500 per hectare of irrigated land.
While 1 lakh vegetable mini-kits will be distributed in Cyclone-affected districts, betel farmers to get Rs 15,000 each while mushroom cultivators will get Rs 40,000 per unit, said Patnaik.
Patnaik further said that Rs 25,000 per hectare will also be given to banana cultivators while financial assistance of Rs 50,000 will be given to affected farmers and women Self Help Groups (SHGs). They will also be supported with cow shed.
As per the Situation Report released by the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), at least 1,50,94,321 people have been affected in 14 districts – Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh and Puri.
Fani hit the Puri coast on May 3.
