Bhubaneswar: Expressing deep concern on the health condition of Padma Shri D Prakash Rao who is undergoing treatment in SCB Medical College, Cuttack, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced free treatment facility for him.
The Chief Minister directed the Cuttack Collector to ensure free medical facility and supervise the treatment of the Padma Shri awardee.
“Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep concern on the health condition of Padma Shri D. Prakash Rao who is undergoing treatment in SCB Medical College, Cuttack. CM wished him speedy recovery and directed @CuttackDM to ensure free medical facility and supervise his treatment,” tweeted the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Rao was admitted to SCB after he complained of severe chest pain while attending a programme in Angul. Rao has been shifted to Medicine Intensive Care Unit.
Rao had received Padma Shri, a tea seller, this year for his selfless service towards educating underprivileged and orphan children in Cuttack. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised him in his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat.
