Bhubaneswar: The CBI has sent notices to two senior Biju Janta Dal (BJD) leaders Arun Sahoo and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak for examination in an ongoing chit fund scam case, reported news agency ANI.
Earlier, many ruling BJD leaders, including MP and MLAs were summoned by the Central investigating agency and grilled. Mayurbhanj MP Ramchandra Hansdah, Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy and Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Pravat Biswal were arrested by the CBI in several chit fund cases. They all were released on bail now.
The CBI is probing the multi-thousand crore chit fund scam.
The Supreme Court in 2014 directed a CBI probe in multi-thousand-crore chit fund scams in West Bengal, Odisha and Assam in which various companies, are allegedly involved.
